Tips for Successful House & Business Moves

Moving day is one of the most anticipated days of the entire move process and with proper planning, you can ensure that you have all bases covered!

Our experienced moving teams will do everything they can to make sure your move is a complete success.

Here is Denix Moving's expert team's top tips for successful house and business moves...

Start Early & Be Organised

Give yourself plenty of time to sort through your belongings and decide what to keep and what to dispose of.

Create a checklist to keep track of important tasks and deadlines. Check out our blog post on the importance of relocation plans.

Choose The Right Removals Company

Do your research and make sure you select a reputable house removal company that can handle your specific needs.

To ensure accurate pricing, consider sending photos and videos of your belongings to potential companies.

Pack Smart

Follow a timetable – people often underestimate how long it takes to pack!

Packing room-by-room will help you stay organised.

Wrap all fragile, breakable items in paper before packing them in boxes.

Label boxes clearly: a room where the box should go in your new home and a brief description of the contents.

As you complete a room, sort packed boxes by weight (light, medium, heavy). This will assist your moving team on the day of the move.

For the best protection, we recommend you allow us to pack delicate items such as marble or glass tabletops, heavy wall ornaments, large mirrors, and bulky, fragile items like large trophies, statues, chandeliers, etc.

Denix Moving do sell packing materials if you decide to pack yourselves. see our price list on our services page.

Be Ready on Moving Day

The Team Leader will review the household furniture items in your home that are being moved and plan the loading process in the safest and most efficient way.

You or a representative must be at your home on move day.

Ensure there is no food or liquid left in your fridge.

It is a good idea to arrange for someone to take care of the children (and pets) while the removalists are packing and loading your items.

Ensure items not being moved are clearly separated from those items that are being moved.

Keep Passports and important documents you require well away from any bench tops that could be accidentally packed!

Prior to the team leaving take one final walk around the house to check everything has been collected and not left behind.

Looking in places such as wardrobes, under stairs, or in the garage to ensure nothing is left behind!
